I AM… SASHA FIERCE.

I’M A SEOULVIVOR, I’M NOT GON GIVE UP, I’M NOT GON STOP, I’M GON WORK HARDER, I’M A SEOULVIVOR, I’M GONNA MAKE IT, I WILL SEOULVIVE, KEEP ON SEOULVIVIN’.

On da real doh… I’m Sasha Kyung-Hwa Ross. Your typical or ‘basic’ half Korean/half American Southern California girl. Growing up in SoCal all her life, she prides herself of liking instagram, acai bowls, brunch, In-N-Out Burger, carne asada fries, hiking, yoga, Disneyland, Paul Walker, beach life, and any other of the basics. She likes what she likes, even if it means that so many other people or ‘basic bitches’ tend to like the same thing she happens to like.

Half of her felt missing; she felt like she didn’t have a complete understanding of her Korean identity. She wanted to explore more of her Korean heritage in hopes to find and have a deeper understanding of herself. In pursuit of finding this balance in her life, she decided to do some ‘Seoul Searching’. Why not come to a country that seemed somewhat familiar and like her home away from home, where she could finally meet some of her extended family for the first time and completely indulge in the culture.

My passions involve all things KOREAN… Korean drama (I have my 엄마 to blame for this, always watching it back home after work lol), Kpop, Korean make-up, Korean fashion, Korean food, Korean cafes, Korean night life, Korean travel spots, and last but not least, Korean language, to grasp and have a deeper understanding of the Korean culture itself. My blog aligns perfectly with my goals: to gain digital marketing experience while exploring, indulging, and enjoying my time living in Seoul. This is a once in a lifetime experience and I’m here to make memories and remember my time living in this great city; no better way to remember and look back on it then documenting all these special moments.

When I first came to Korea, I wish I had someone to guide me and tell me all the tricks and gadgets to make my life in Korea easier to adjust to. I don’t regret going through obstacles here and overcoming them because then I wouldn’t be here today giving you all the tips and advice on my experience in Seoul. It definitely has toughened me up and made me grow and learn a lot about myself. I’m truly grateful for the experience.

So if you’re into Korean trends, culture, and lifestyle, or just curious as to what you can expect being/living in Seoul, then follow my blog to get a guide on how to make your life in Korea easier to adjust to and make your experience more fulfilling and fun! I’ll give you the latest scoop on where to get your fix of Mexican food, acai bowl, or cupcakes you’ve been craving, where to get the latest fastest trends and make-up, where to go for a perfect hangout or date, and any other ‘Basic Bitch’ need of yours that you just can’t seem to find on your own in Seoul. I teach the ‘Basic Bitch’ how to survive in Seoul. If I can do it, so can you!

This is Basic Bitch Seoulvivor.
